ThinkTac, a unit of the Innovation and Science Promotion Foundation (ISPF), operates the Visit Tracker mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we collect:
- Your name and email address (from your Google account)
- Profile photo URL (if available)
1.2 Location Data
The app collects precise location data (GPS coordinates) when you:
- Start or end a visit to capture the visit location
- View the map during a visit
Location data is collected only while the app is in use and only with your explicit permission. We do not track your location in the background.
1.3 Visit Data
When you record a visit, the app collects:
- Institution/school name and address
- Visit date and time
- Demographics information (school type, board, language)
- Visit feedback and observations
- Quiz/assessment responses (if applicable)
- Partner and vendor associations
1.4 Device Information
We collect basic device information for app functionality:
- Internet connectivity status
- Device type and operating system version
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Authenticate your identity and provide access to the app
- Record and manage school/institution visit data
- Generate visit reports and analytics for organizational use
- Send Slack notifications to your organization about visit activity
- Provide offline data storage and synchronization
- Improve app functionality and user experience
3. Data Storage and Security
- Visit data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with encryption at rest and in transit
- Offline data is stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage (Hive)
- Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication (Google Sign-In)
- All network communication uses HTTPS encryption
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties
4. Data Sharing
Your data is shared only within your organization (ISPF/ThinkTac) for:
- Visit reporting and analytics
- Slack notifications about visit activity
- Administrative oversight and project management
We do not share your data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
5. Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase — Authentication, database, analytics
- Google Maps — Location display and geocoding
- Google Sign-In — User authentication
- Slack API — Internal team notifications
Each service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
6. Data Retention
Visit data is retained for the duration of the organizational project. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Withdraw consent for location access at any time (via device settings)
- Opt out of Slack notifications
8. Children's Privacy
Visit Tracker is designed for use by organizational employees and partners. It is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
